Professionally my career experience includes having worked at Hampshire Record Office for over ten years, and for the National Trust (part-time) for three years, giving me a wealth of experience in heritage. I am also a freelance Tour Guide at the Tudor House Museum in Southampton.

Having just completed a Masters in Eighteenth Century Studies at the University of Southampton with distinction, I am knowledgeable in most aspects of social history during the long eighteenth century, specialising in the experience of domestic singing c1800 and country houses and gardens.

As an experienced public speaker I am very happy to speak to local groups on a variety of topics to do with social history and heritage. See my page on public speaking to find out more.

In addition I am also an accomplished singer, performing professionally at cabarets, weddings and dinner parties, and being a regular winner at the Southampton Festival of Music and Drama in various categories from opera to French Song. Check out my singing page for more info and audio files.
